How to Properly Clean Your Range Hood

As a restaurant owner, you know how important it is to have a clean kitchen. Not only is it a health code violation to have a dirty kitchen, but it also gives your customers a bad impression.

One of the most important pieces of equipment in your kitchen is your range hood. It is important to clean a range hood so that the grease and grime that accumulates as a result of cooking can be removed.

Even though some range hoods have a self-cleaning function, the vast majority of them still need to be cleaned by hand.

The first thing you’ll want to do is take the filters out of the hood and soak them in some hot, soapy water.

Next, clean the underside of the hood with a degreaser, making sure to get into all of the crevices and fissures that are there.

In the final step, clean the exterior of the hood by wiping it down with a fresh cloth. You can keep your range hood looking as good as new and ensure that it continues to function properly by following these easy steps.

The Importance of Cleaning Your Range Hood

A range hood is an essential piece of equipment in any kitchen, and it needs to be properly cleaned on a regular basis.

A range hood helps to remove smoke, grease, and odors from the air, which keeps your kitchen looking and smelling fresh. Additionally, a clean range hood will help to prolong its lifespan. If you let grease and grime build up on your range hood, it will eventually start to rust and fall apart.

By taking the time to clean it on a regular basis, you can avoid this problem and keep your range hood in good condition for years to come.

How Often Should You Clean Your Range Hood?

Ideally, you should clean your range hood every time you use it. However, if that’s not possible, then you should aim for once a week at a minimum.

Some people like to wash their range hood filters in the dishwasher, but we don’t recommend this because it can damage them. If you have stainless steel filters, then you should soak them in hot, soapy water for about 30 minutes before scrubbing them with a non-abrasive sponge.

For aluminum filters, we recommend using hot water and white vinegar instead of soap. You should also regularly degrease and sanitize the underside of your range hood as well as the area around your stovetop.
