Privacy Policy

The Niagara Falls Hood Cleaning Privacy Policy is the plain account of what this website collects about a visitor, where it goes, how long it stays and how to have it corrected or removed. It follows the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the federal law that governs how a Canadian business handles personal information in commercial activity. The quote form is the only place this site asks for personal details. Browsing the pages does not identify you. Last updated: September 2026.

What the quote form sends

The quote form sits on the homepage and on the contact page. A submission carries three kinds of data.

What you type. Five fields:

  • Your name
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address
  • The name of the business or kitchen
  • A message about the hood, the fan or the job you have in mind

What the page adds. Four values, attached by the browser when you press the button:

  • The web address of the page you were on
  • The title of that page
  • A form id, hero-quote-home or hero-quote-contact, that says which of the two forms you used
  • A timing token based on when the page loaded, which lets the server discard submissions sent faster than a person can fill in a form

What the page hides. One field is invisible on screen. People leave it empty. Spam scripts fill it in, and a submission with that field filled is dropped before anyone sees it.

What this site never asks for. Card numbers, bank details, a social insurance number or any health information. If a message includes something like that by mistake, call and it is removed from the record.

Where your details go after you press send

A submission makes two stops, and both exist to get you a quote.

First stop: a Netlify serverless function. The form posts to a small program that runs on Netlify, the host of this website. The program rejects posts from other websites, checks the hidden field and the timing token, confirms the phone number has the right number of digits, and passes a clean submission along. It keeps no database of its own.

Second stop: the GoHighLevel CRM. The submission becomes a contact record in GoHighLevel, the customer relationship software Niagara Falls Hood Cleaning uses to track quotes and bookings. The new record alerts the person who prepares quotes.

Why the record exists. A written quote goes back within 24 hours, and the record lets someone call, text or email you about that quote and about booking the visit. A form submission does not sign you up for a newsletter or a marketing sequence. Reply STOP to any text message and the texts end.

Nobody buys your details. Contact records are never sold, rented or handed to an advertising network.

Data held outside Canada. Netlify and GoHighLevel may store data on servers in the United States. PIPEDA allows this when the data stays protected by contract at a level comparable to Canadian law, and both companies publish their own privacy terms.

Google Analytics 4, the chat widget and cookies

Google Analytics 4. Each page loads the Google Analytics tag G-MR5JJH6N18. It measures which pages people read, the order they read them in, the kind of device used and the approximate region. It does not receive the contents of the quote form, because the form posts to the Netlify function and not to Google. The numbers show which pages help kitchen operators and which need work. A tracking blocker or your browser's privacy setting stops the tag, and the site still works.

The GoHighLevel chat widget. When a chat bubble shows in the corner of a page, GoHighLevel runs it. The widget can set its own cookie or use browser storage so one conversation carries across pages on this site. What you type in the chat lands in the same CRM as the form and is handled the same way. You can close the bubble or block it, and the phone line and the form still do everything it does.

Cookies set by this site. None of its own. There is no login, no cart and no saved preference. Any cookie you find comes from Google Analytics or the chat widget.

Server logs. Netlify and the content delivery network that serves these pages keep short-term technical logs, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, for security and uptime. Those logs are not used to identify visitors.

Retention, access, correction and deletion

How long records stay. An enquiry that never becomes a booking stays on file long enough to answer it and to recognise the kitchen if it calls again. After a completed visit, the signed certificate and the before-and-after photographs are safety records. A kitchen may need to show them to its fire service, to a Niagara Region Public Health inspector or to an insurer, so they stay on file with the contact details needed to send a copy.

Seeing your record. PIPEDA gives you the right to see the personal information a business holds about you. Call 289-272-7390 to ask. The reply comes within the time PIPEDA sets, which is 30 days in most cases.

Fixing your record. A changed phone number, a new email address or a renamed restaurant is updated when you ask.

Deleting your record. Contact details are removed on request. Certificates and photographs for completed work are kept as safety records, and you are told this when you make the request.

Complaints. Start with a phone call, and a person deals with it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the federal office that oversees PIPEDA.

Minors and outside links. This site is for people who run commercial kitchens and is not aimed at anyone under 18. A parent who thinks a minor used the form can call to have the record removed. Links that leave this site fall under the other site's privacy policy.

Updates. When the handling of personal information changes, this page is updated and the date above changes. The terms of service cover quotes, scope and payment.

Privacy policy: frequently asked questions

Why does the form send the page address and a form id?

The page address and form id show Niagara Falls Hood Cleaning whether an enquiry came from the homepage form or the contact page form. They reveal nothing about you beyond the page you were reading when you sent it.

Who reads what I type into the quote form?

The person who prepares quotes and books visits reads it. Netlify runs the forwarding function and GoHighLevel hosts the CRM, each as a service provider under its own privacy terms. No other company receives your details.

Can Google Analytics see my quote request?

Google Analytics cannot see the fields in your quote request. The tag records page views. The form fields travel in a separate request to the Netlify function, and that request does not go through Google.

Is there a published email address for privacy requests?

Privacy requests go by phone to 289-272-7390. This site does not publish an email address. You can also send the request through the form on the contact page, and someone calls you back to confirm it.

What stays on file after I ask for deletion?

The certificate and photographs from a completed visit stay on file as safety records. Your contact details are removed. If no work was ever done, the whole enquiry is removed.

A question about your record

Requests to see, correct or delete your details go to the same line that books hood cleaning. Call 289-272-7390 and a person takes the request.
